there are so many mistakes along the way, it is really hard to see how the president turns this around. also, please notice, what was the 2012 date when we would really been the way out of afghanistan, that is gone, that is gone away. we are now talking about 2014 depending on conditions on the ground. this at a time of tremendously strapped resources everywhere at home, and we have still a war in iraq, that has had a draw down and it is still very expensive, i don't see how this picture gets better for americans. one can only rely on general petraeus who is the miracle worker. he is the father of the surge. but it is up to him. if he gives the president cover and says things are going well, mr. president, stay the course, perhaps the president can pull it off. >>shepard: give the president cover. >>guest: or sometimes it is
