told me. fred foster, the producer, is the one who called ray. we had just left the physical rehab center. he was getting ready to go back to houston for another treatment. and he called ray, and he said, we have got the final mix. and i think you're going to be really pleased. now hand the phone to janie. and so he handed the phone to me. fred never spoke to me. these guys always talked with each other. and he said, janie, how does it feel to be the most loved person in the world? and i said, oh, my goodness, what do you mean in and he said, ray price told me he recorded this specifically for you. especially for you. and of course you know what happened. >> well, i'm glad you shared with the rest of the world this magnificent album because it's some of the best work that ray's ever done, and that's saying a lot. but ray's career was not without some controversy. because when he brought orchestration and strings to what had been a very different kind of country music, there were people who thought ray price is messing country all up. now they think he's a genius.
