Differing approaches to China a point of tension amid Morrison's meeting with Ardern

Sky News political reporter Trudy McIntosh says there is tension in Australia’s relationship with New Zealand at the moment, particularly centering around different approaches to China.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is in New Zealand for talks with Jacinda Ardern.

Differing relationships with China are expected to be a top priority at the leaders’ meeting.

“There’s no closer relationship you’d argue than that between Australia and New Zealand,” Ms McIntosh told Sky News host Chris Smith.

“But certainly there is some tension in it at the moment.”
