A magnificent selection of jewels belonging to Queen Victoria’s great-great-grandaughter is to be auctioned
The lineage of Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, is one of untold glamour and formidable dynasties. The daughter of Louis Mountbatten, the last Viceroy of India, the great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria and a great-niece of the last Tsarina of Russia, the Countess lived an illustrious life. Now, she is fondly remembered for her “unwavering perseverance and beguiling sense of humour”.
