DMCHS to host national fundraising tour The Hawk Eye Des Moines County Humane Society Animal Shelter will be the site of pies to the face, a "doggy jail," dancing, and other fun and games Tuesday at a fundraiser for the shelter. Social media personality Kris Rotonda will bring his high-energy antics to the shelter to raise funds and inspire people to adopt pets. The Burlington stop is part of his 50-state goal to visit 300 animal shelters and raise awareness of animal and shelter needs. During his tour, Rotonda goes live on Facebook for four hours at each shelter to raise donations to benefit its animals, sometimes raising upward of $15,000.
