Highlights On Ernest Hemingway's connection to the pandemic: "It's hard to imagine that it didn't have a huge effect on his existential awareness, as Ken was saying, of mortality and the randomness and the unfairness of the fact that everything can be taken away and someone can be struck down. And that pandemic affected young people much more than this one. So, so many of the millions of people who have died were young people in their 20s and 30s or even children. It absolutely goes without saying that this would have had a huge effect on him."
