Downtown restaurant supports Fairfield-Suisun Rotary food program FAIRFIELD — Saffron Indian Cuisine and Bar and the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Club are teaming up to raise money for the Rotary Feeds Families program, according to a press release. The public can support the program by purchasing a take-out lunch or dinner Wednesday at Saffron, 739 Texas St. (434-1313). Saffron will donate 20% of the purchases from that day to the club if patrons show them the coupon on the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Facebook Account: https://www.facebook.com/fairfieldsuisunrotary/. This year during the pandemic, the Rotary Feeds Families program has focused on food insecurity issues by instituting a gleaning project to pick fruit and vegetables from community members’ yards and delivering it to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano; purchasing food from local farmers for the food bank, The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Suisun City and Meals on Wheels; volunteering at the food bank and with Meals on Wheels; and purchasing lunches for first responders.
