DSC plans $6M law enforcement academy with shooting range in DeLand DAYTONA BEACH — Daytona State College is planning to build a $6.6 million law enforcement training facility, including an indoor firing range, in DeLand in 2022-23. The school placed the building as No. 1 in its pipeline for future projects, the capital improvement plan approved by the DSC Board of Trustees on Thursday. The plan now goes to the Florida Department of Education for consideration along with other projects at public colleges and universities. DSC is looking to upgrade its law enforcement academy, which has enrolled about 175 students annually, despite a move by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office to open its own training academy.
