Duluth seeks demolition of Kozy building; Ringsred asks judg

Judge Eric Hylden will once again determine the fate of the troubled downtown structure.

Calling the structure a "ticking time bomb," the city of Duluth has asked a judge to allow at least partial demolition of Pastoret Terrace, the historic downtown building that long housed the Kozy Bar and Apartments.
A series of fires dating back more than a decade — the latest coming on Nov. 1 — have left the First Street facade susceptible to "sudden collapse," attorneys indicated, citing an analysis by engineering firm LHB, Inc.
