Nearly intact dwarf emu egg found on island near Australia
The 'unique' egg was found near a sand dune on King Island 
King Island emus were much smaller than mainland emus, at  34 inches tall, 5ft in length and weighing between 45 and 50 pounds
 
King Island emu eggs were roughly the same size as mainland emu eggs, despite the vast difference in body size. 
The King Island dwarf emu went extinct by 1822
