Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has welcomed the news that the state recorded zero new COVID-19 cases on the second day of a Greater Brisbane lockdown.
Authorities have been racing to trace all close contacts of a Brisbane quarantine hotel cleaner who tested positive to the more infectious UK variant of the virus earlier in the week, prompting Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young to enact the three-day lockdown, which will expire on Monday at 6pm.
