While Oregon has so far escaped the kind of takeover that occurred last week at the U.S. Capitol, Oregonians don't have to look far to see the same kind of irresponsible rhetoric and actions whipping up unrest here, the editorial board writes. Both Rep. Mike Nearman, who allowed angry protesters into the closed state Capitol, and Sen. Dallas Heard, who is drumming up anger against people who report coronavirus violations, are examples of the extremism that Oregon could do without.
