The petition did not contain enough signatures, according to the city.

A petition to limit Plano’s authority for eminent domain stalled Tuesday because city officials ruled it lacked the number of valid signatures needed for the city council to call for a public vote on the matter.
The petition was filed by supporters of the Montessori Children’s House school on Hedgcoxe Road. At issue is an easement that would allow the city to construct a hike and bike trail that would connect the Russell Creek Park and Hoblitzelle Park trails.
