The Supreme Court, on Thursday, granted interim protection from arrest to TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor in relation to an FIR registered against her for alleged objectionable content in the second season of the web series 'XXX'. The Bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde was hearing a petition filed by Kapoor against the order passed by Madhya Pradesh High Court which refused to quash the FIR against her. According to the wesbite Bar and Bench, Bobde, while granting interim relief to Kapoor remarked, "We don't like the Madhya Pradesh High Court order". In his November 11 order, Justice Shailendra Shukla of the Madhya Pradesh High Court opined that applying the test of obscenity from the point of view of an ordinary person, there was some substance in the State's stance that the XXX episode could cater to the prurient interest of a normal major person.
