Eleanor Tomlinson has ditched the red hair of Demelza for a more futuristic look Credit: Sky When Eleanor Tomlinson first got the part in Sky’s new sci-fi drama Intergalactic, she wanted it to be very, very different. “Let’s just say I didn’t want to be red-headed. I think we’ve seen that before.” Tomlinson is referring to the fiery, flowing locks of Demelza Poldark in the BBC hit that made her name. It was a defining role for a young actor, but one so popular that she knew it would need some undefining. Seeing Tomlinson on set for Intergalactic, it’s safe to say that she has got her wish. The red hair has been replaced by blonde dreadlocks, she has scales on her forehead and is careering around holding a sub-machine gun. She looks like an angry iguana. After post-production, Tomlinson will have a forked tongue as well. Demelza has well and truly left the building.
