From Staff Reports ELLWOOD CITY — The Ellwood City Area School Board has approved an updated health and safety plan for the district. This plan, among other items, states that for the start of the 2021-22 school year, students will no longer have to wear face masks in the buildings, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan also notes that the district will comply with all federal and state health and safety guidelines and that if the Pennsylvania Department of Health or Gov. Tom Wolf calls for another mask mandate, the district will comply and require students to wear masks again. The first mask mandate by Wolf ended on June 28.
