Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is likely, with locally higher amounts possible due to thunderstorms and persistent areas of rain. Heavy rain may cause excess runoff, and localized flooding with significant flash flooding is possible. A few stronger thunderstorms could develop this afternoon and early evening could also produce some damaging winds, with the best chance south of the Cumberland Parkway. The WPC has placed much of the state in a MODERATE risk for excessive rainfall, which means numerous flash floods are likely. The SPC has also put much of Kentucky in a MARGINAL risk for severe weather, which means Isolated Severe Storms are expected.
