Entertainment 3 months, 3 weeks 'The Stand', Stephen King's sprawling 1978 novel has been adapted into a CBS All Access series. This is the second time the text has been translated to screen and like most adaptations of the author's works, the new 9-part limited series is arriving amidst a tonne of fan apprehension and a large ensemble cast in tow. Starring Alex SkarsgÃ¥rd, Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Owen Teague, Ezra Miller (what?) and more, the show follows a group of survivors after a deadly virus nicknamed "Captain Trips" virus wipes out most of the population leaving a handful of survivors who are immune to it. Leading the characters as they navigate the forces of good and evil is Stu Redman. Redman is an iconic hero from Stephen King's post-apocalyptic universe set in Boulder, Colorado. He's the everyman and an entry point of sorts into the story. So it's a no-brainer that actor James Marsden who plays the role recognises the significance of getting the character right, especially for book fans. In a virtual press junket ahead of the showâs release, the actor told Mashable India just how much he relates to Stu.
