Faith Leaders From Across the Country Join Together in Washi

"My Vote is Sacred" was first anchored and organized by a contingent of Georgia faith leaders, including
AME Georgia Bishop Reginald Jackson;
Rev. Dr. Cynthia Hale, founder and Senior Pastor of the Ray of Hope Christian Church;
Rev. Dr. Bernice King, CEO, The King Center;
Reverend Timothy McDonald III, Senior Pastor of the First Iconium Baptist Church, founder of the African American Ministers Leadership Council, and President of the African American Ministers In Action of People for the American Way;
Dr. Jamal Bryant, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church; and
Reverend Lee May, Lead Pastor at Transforming Faith Church. Earlier this year, Republican Governor Brian Kemp made Georgia the first state in the country to sign into law legislation explicitly aimed at making it less likely for people of color to vote. In the weeks that have followed, Republican-elected leaders from around the country have proposed or passed voter suppression bills in forty-seven states.
