Arrested. For looting looting and riotingn National Guard imposed curfews quickly broken. Tonight we welcome fox news political analyst caldwell on a nation in pain. Caon healing, and on the brother of george floyd he was killed in Police Custody, George Floyds brother saying the looting and rioting has to stop. That looters and rioters attacking businesses many owned by minorities is not the the way. George floyd, he said would not accept or condone that. Floyd family also saying that they have findings of an independent autopsy determining that george floyd died of asphyxiation also a Chuck Grassley fox business exclusive over who was behind what republicans senator ron johnson called, quote, out of control leak to the media that threaten National Security in the first month of the trump presidency. First independent counsel ken star on reaction pouring in that the declassified transcript of the phone call for jay mike fell flynn and russia ambassador add to mounting evidence that fbi and administration had no league basis to interview and go after Michael Flynn to continue with a trump russia probe now taking serious hits to its validity and credibility. Also this former Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein is preparing for a Senate Grilling on wednesday. A thanks for joining us im Elizabeth Macdonald the evening edit starts right now. Welcome to the show youre watching the fox business network. Lets get right to Hillary Vaughn with more from washington the latest on whats going on there. Hillary. Steps away from the white house and under an hour away from curfew here in washington, d. C. But still are hundreds of protesters peacefully demonstrating in front the a line of u. S. Park police decked out in riot gear. These protesters are demanding justice for george floyd and calling for the arrest of the other three officers involved in floyds death. The one Minneapolis Police officer who has been arrested so far derrick, that man whose knee crushed minute leading up to his death hes been transferred to a maximum security prison and now independent autopsy requested by floyd family showing he suffocated toha death from pressure on his back and neck. Contradicting the countys own exam. The president hosted a call with with governors today telling them its time for them to crack down on looting, and violence. All of the men and women that you need, the people arent calling them up. You have to come to flat if youre not dominate theyre going run over you and look like a bunch of jerks. Just dominate. And you have to arrest people, and you have to l try people and they have to go to jail for prison time. So far 4400 people around the country have been arrested for being involved in protest that turned violent around the country. When things got dark, the protest got dangerous. Buildings peppered with profanityan tag of messages of hate shops gutted after people poured in ripping things off shelves steal as much as they could carry away here in d. C. We saw a lot of cars and Police Vehicle it is go up in flames before curfew last night. Today we saw businesses work to board up windows with plywood bairpiers before more protest are expected to continue tonight. But liz, one thing thats notable here on the ground curfew last night was 11 pem. Tonight its 7 p. M. Theyre clearly trying to clear the streets before things get dark. Liz. Ar hillary thank you so much for your reporting weve got breaking news. The president will speak at 6 15 in just about 11 minutes time. We will be taking it live. Lets bring on fox news political analyst, caldwell with his reaction. Thank you so much for joining us again, when you saw the shocking scenes from this weekend, what was your reaction . S this is unbelievably tragic time in our countrys history this is something that all people will remember from decades to come, and my own city of chicago, the black community is completely being destroyed with the looting. With those who are rioting, this is not in George Floyds honor. Thous not inot his memory. These are nefarious actors with criminal intent who should be the prosecuted i think theres a lot to be said about the experiences that africanamericans have had in thisis country and a lot disenfranchise and Racial Injustices up and down whether be in judicial and criminal justicein system we can go on ad on and talk about that. But what people are doing now is not the way to handle it. We should be working with our elected officials. Throughout legislation for accountability for Police Officers from the white house on down. Ou people are literally literally defecating on memory of george floyd. Approximately 17,000 National Guards soldiers and airman now activated in 23 states and d. C. , police have responded over the weekend with rubber bullet it is tear gas and including in nations capitol dozens of secret Service Agents injured. Policenc officers and many citis knelt to show of support to protesters over killing of george floyd, another africanamerican in Police Custody but excuse me i want your reaction to this. George floyd younger brother terrace is condemning the looting and riot withing. Hes paiskly saying that the the pain and anguish for his brother death belongs to George Floyds family to minnesota, to the country. Not to the looters and rioters. Lets watch this. Its okay to be angry. But shadow your anger to do so through a positive to make a change another way. Because weve been weve been down this road already. Weve been done this already he will want us to seek justice the way we are. The way were trying to do. But shadow it another way. Show another way. The anger is is ripping up, you know, damaging your hometown. Its not the way he want. You know, hundreds of Small Businesses many of them minority owned owned by minorities were attacked. Theyre really upset like you said your hometown of chicago had its most violent weekend so far this past weekend. Nearly 82 shot 27 fatally. 27 of them in chicago now deeds. Dead. Hes absolutely correct about that. The truth of the matter is individuals take this opportunity and i know whats been going on a lot of people are jobless but thats no excuse for what were seeing. There needs to be as President Trump said law and order and if i l understand the pain. I understand the frustration. I even posted on social media if you if you support the rioters and those who are loot, unfollow me and i got a tremendous amount of comments on twitter and instagram where people who were really divided felt like for some africanamericans and i want to make sure i emphasize that some it felt like if you didnt support the looting and rioting then you didnt support the entire movement which is ridiculous i couldnt believe what i was seeing from some aspeople who said hey im goingo unfollow you because you dont support the memory of george floyd that just made no sense to me. So at this particular point im so thankful for family of george floyd who is talking sense in this moment. And also highlighting their true memory that george floyd would want is to peacefully protest, and as you see some change and form legislation. As we move forward. I like your reaction lets listen to state and local leaders including mayor of atlanta and denver and former governor of North Carolina on what happened this weekend. Let take a listen. I will just say that it was clear to me and also hearing from our local community leaders, that many of the people that were involved in the criminal conduct last night were not known many to them. And so yes, there were several people who were involved in the activity it is last night that were not recognized as being here from the city. So what i see happening on the streets of atlanta is not atlanta. This is not a protest. This is not in the spirit of Martin Luther king, jr. This is chaos. A protest has purpose. When dr. King was assassinated wen didnt do this to our cityf you care about about this city, then go home. So when you burn down this city, you burning down our community. What does this mindless destruction achieve . What justice is served by breaking windows at the library or city hall or the State Capitol . Or the the state Supreme Court building . Or on privateup businesses and downtown denver, just beginning to come back to life you have a small group of violent people domestic terrorists who follow the concept of the art of war. Theyll hitandrun. Theyll break windows. Theyll sett fires and then theyll run. Okay, lets team i want to ask team in the booth show the video of the dallas Small Business manma knocked almost unconscience nearly killed also at woman in rochester, new york beaten about head by looters with a wooden plank an officer in jacksonville, florida, hospitalized after slashed in the neck two cops in harrisburg, pennsylvania, hospitalized hit request bricks. A woman from the, you know, now charged with four counts of murder attempted murder attempted murder she throw a molotov cocktail at brooklyn so this is getting really dangerous. People are getting killed. Thats why National Guard is important for them to step in and i got a short point here. Mlk Martin Luther king, jr. Was murdered there were protest and riots in the city of chicago. Buildings burned down, 60 years later, those lots were those lbuildings stood are still vact in a lot of cases. This is what we have when you give people that are wreck withless with criminal intent and not about memory of george floyd or Police Brutality or anything else but their own criminal intengt and no jobs and nowhere for those individuals to live in these communities to go. You know, rioting is happening as more than 40 million are out of work. U. S. Deaths from covid19 hit now nearly 105,000, lets listen to attorney general barr saying rioters and looters will be brought to justice. Watch this. Many places it appears that violence is planned, organized, anden driven by an arctic left extreme groups far left extremetist groups using antifa like tactics many travel from outside the state to promote the violence. The department of justice including the fbi welcome the u. S. Marshals atf, the dea, and our 93 United States Attorneys Office at u. S. Attorneys office is around the country are supporting these local efforts. Will continue to support them and take all action necessary to enforce federal law. In that regard, it is a federal crime to cross state lines or to use interstate facilities to insight or participate in violent rioting and we will enforce those laws. You know, jeano the doj is investigating whats going on with a Police Pursuit we know there are, theres a large number of Police Officers who dont agree with with whats been going on. Theyre upset with the killing of george floyd. We know that now and we see as reporting hundreds of times that Police Officers in minneapolis use neck restraints 44 people werene rengdered unconscience by that. The Justice Department is looking into this and mayor st. Paul is saying, this is didnt just start with killing of george floyd but been going on for years, and now in the era of cameras americans are getting video recordings of whats happening your final word before we go too break. Absolutely thats why it is important to f have police decrs withk. Doj puts these plmgds unr review and just allows point on antifa theyre going to hand out bricks to do damage and a lot of these cases or some of their white kowpght part in antifa theyre using the memory of george floyd and we cant have that. Okay the president is now expected to speak at 6 30 we will bring it to you live now this senator ron johnson chair of home land security and government affairses told our Maria Bartiromo that there were dozens of leaks to 18 different Media Outlets in the early days of the Trump Administration that did threaten National Security. Senator johnson said that leaks were, quote, completely out of control. Joining us in a fox business exclusive lets welcome back to the show republican senator from iowa, senator chuck glassily thank you so much for coming back on sir. Who in obama do you think was doing the leaking . Well, we dont know for sure. But it looks like it was pretty political when you have the high caliber people like the president , the Vice President , the National Security advisor, and other people that are close to the president being involved in this, and some of those top people also being involved in demasking. Youve got to come to the conclusion that there was a political motivation behind it as opposed to just a National Security is motivation and besides, fbi knew then what we now know three years later, that there was no reason to interview flynn. You know, senator johnson said there were 125 leaks in the first 126 days, and 62 of them about half of them threaten National Security that there were leaks to the media so, sir correct me, correct us if were wrong. But they didnt have a chase to go after flynn. The trump russia sealed doll dossier all of that was falling apart. James comey testified when the Obama Administration had kicked out dozens of Russian Diplomats that the Obama Administration was surprised that russia did not retaliate because remember Michael Flynn on the phone call with the Russian Ambassador advised it dont do tit for tat escalation do reciprocal thats when unmasking began when they were surprised that russia didnt retaliate thats when it started to spiral to do unmasking of american citizens on Trump Campaign is that how you see it . Well i do see it, i dont need to add to what you said except to just make very clear to your listeners that the fedup by the agents to corner and entrap flynn was based upon antitrump bias, and they had to do everything they could to stop him and they were committed to doing that. And all of this information that they had from the unmasking, they basically knew that anyway. Because they had access through the to the transcripts, and you know in february of 2017, just think of it. Grassley and feinstein in a bipartisan way asked for these transports. And then we dont get them until three and a half years later, and just proves that that theres too much overclassification, and it just simply proves that they want to cover up everything because they didnt have a case against flynn. He was treated ill more ill ways than anybody else could have been, and somebody ought to pay a price for it and i hope when he gets down with this investigation some of these people are charged. So senator, you think there was a threeyear coverup of what really happened which critics are saying a lot of nothing on the flynn phone call with the Russian Ambassador that you were so well for three years and a coverup theres no there, there is that what youre saying . Absolutely. This started out in a bipartisan way feinstein writing a letter for the transcripts with the flynn call to Russian Ambassador and we were told it was classified National Security. And when you read it, theres nothing National Security, it shouldnt be classified. But it was all very embarrassing to the fbi, and to the Justice Department. And probably people trying to protect the Obama Administration because of their involvement in it. And it just is a sin what happened to flynn. Its just a sin when you have overclassification its a sin that they wantedded to get trump. They have to have some accuse and then we have the mueller and you have the impeachment hes still in office, and now were just finding this all out three years later. And its only because theres a patriotic american by the name of ambassador grinnell that came into head the intelligence, and he knew that this was all wrong, and overclassification, because of his good faith effort in believing in transparency and believing in congressional oversight that we got this information or we still wouldnt know all of this stuff. You know, it is also why was joe biden asked to unmask do you think president obama had a personal van dont bring him on your team do you think president obama had a personal vendetta against Michael Flynn . Personal against him but not something flynn did to obama but because flynn knew what was wrong with the cia, and he was in a position to do something about it. And he knew one of the bodies were buried, and it was obamas way of protecting the cia from embarrassing things and probably some reforms that flynn was going to be able to make or make public. Actually flynn couldnt make them public at that point because he was not in a position to do it. But then working for trump he would have been in a position to do it. So it was get to get flynn to keep covering up the things that need to be reformed with the Intelligence Community. You know, so then the question is why did the fbi and james comey continue to investigate flynn in the absence of any crime or evidence of collusion, i mean, the bottom line is that phone call was a Foreign Policy discussion on behalf of an incoming president. It is at zero Counter Intelligence interest or any legitimate concern for the fbi here. Right . Whats your reaction to that . Well, while we know for sure that comey and other fbi agents said that they didnt think flynn lied, and so this set up to have this interview with flynn if you remember peter strzok said to keep this investigation over a little bit. Keep it open a little bit. So he could go about his things of leading them to the investigations that flynn was set up for. And in other words, just set up, and then what happened to flynn . Ruin him financially, you know, extreme legal expensions how do they prosecute him get him for lying, because they said hes going to prosecute his son so under all of that pressure, what do you, what do you do . Thats how ill treated flynn has been. Senator, if you were to explain this to the American People, can you explain to the the American People why this matters . Yeah. Very easy because if it can happen to flynn, if they can do everything they can to get a legally elected president out of office, they can do it to you, elizabeth or to joe blow or mary smith. And thats why it is important for everybody to know that when your constitutional protections are violated, and they can be violated with highest people in the fbi, then nobody is safe. And so the flynn situation, his exoneration is eventually going to be a lesson to the rest of the world that that finally right wince out but everybody is ruling in the process. And shouldnt happen to any other american citizen. Senator former Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein set to testify on wepgd what would you like to see him answer to . What i would like to see him answer to me is this he was in my offs i asked for this information. Said he couldnt have it because it was National Security. And look at it now. Theres nothing National Security about it. Its, its an innocent conversation between Russian Ambassador and flynn. The next guy that was going to be National Security advisor, and you have got to keep communication with a lot of other countries and russia was just one of them. And he was doing what any National Security advisor ought to be doing to get ready to take over when a new president takes over. To make sure that they got their ducks lined up. They can do regular diplomat pick business with other countries. You know, senator, in your long and stellar career you served our country with integrity and honor. Have you ever seen the fbi investigate an incoming nsa over policy differences. Have you ever seen the fbi step in and investigate an Incoming Administration because that Incoming Administration disagrees with policies from the former administration. Have you ever seen that . In my 40 years in the the United States senate, no. And i hope i never see it again and we have seen it now, and they just about got away with it except for guy like grinnell coming in to be director of intelligence, and he knew something was wrong. And he was going to let the public know what was wrong and he declassified this stuff so Chuck Grassley and johnson could do their job of congressional oversight which is our congressional responsibility. Over sight is supposed to make sure that that president s execute the laws. With unmasking of thing for political reasons rather than for National Security reasons, is not faithfully executing the laws. Senator grassley thank you so much for joining us, sir, we really appreciate it and thank you for your service tour country Chuck Grassley there. Lets bring in and we welcome back to the show former independent star ken star we love having you on. We were just talking to senator Chuck Grassley he just gave us the insight in the news. He feels it was a threeyear coverup to by officials in washington, d. C. To cover up what really happened with the Michael Flynn case because Chuck Grassley along with in a bipartisan push was senator Dianne Feinstein had asked three year ago for this Flynn Documents and information didnt get it. Whats your reaction to that . Inch well i do think it was an unreasonable failure to disclose i wont say it was a coverup. But i have Great Respect for senator grassley and everyone knows a person of total, total integrity. And i think, thank goodness we have these transcripts because read the transcripts. Theyre not only was nothing nefarious but a suggestion of oh, thank you so much. General, flynn thanking for helping us in all of the collusion that we had during the campaign. Absolutely nothing, in fact, general flynn was doing his job which is one of the really ironic cruelties of this whole thing. When you bring in as i think you need to do the Mueller Report understand the context. How did this call happen . The transcript speaks for itself. But why was it that general flynn was reaching out to kiz because he was asked to by Senior Advisor to incoming president in light of what the Obama Administration had done which is apparently without consulting with the Incoming Administration. Out of the blue on december 28th, of 2016 announcing sanctions pretty serious sanctions against the russians, one might very well ask, why so long . You blew whistle back in the the campaign Obama Administration, but you did absolutely nothing. And the administration is stuck with the sanctions and maybe they were appropriate. That can be debated as a policy matter. But why didnt the Obama Administration have the courtesy i would say the decent city to inform the Trump Administration incoming this is what were about to do . Apparently that was just not done. So everyone is scrambling. And the Trump Administration in waiting, they call, they being Senior Advisors, call the general on vacation. December 28th, december 29th, 2016, weve just celebrated christmas. New years eve is coming up, please call ambassador and in that administration the middle east trying to build a peaceful solution in the middle east. That was general flynns job. Then this issue of sanctions came up with general flynn saying, youre essentially let us look at this. Lets talk and dont do more than you have to do and so forth in other words, general flynn was faithfully carrying out direction which were entirely appropriate having zero to do with russian collusion but having to do with Foreign Policy of the United States. So now back to senator grassley, this was a grievous injustice the entire process against general flynn has been a very grievous injustice of the highest order, and i would simply call it a profound abuse of power. I think it also is abuse of power certainly of the classification with just now finding out that what general flynn did had nothing to do with collusion with russians at any time whatsoever. General flynn was an innocent victim of abuse of power. Is it the fbis role to investigate whether a new administration might go in a different policy direction than the outcoming administration shouldnt that be left up to voters to decide . Absolutely. Its interference with the ongoing process of government. And if there was, i dont think there was. But lets just assume that there was concern about general flynn. And did he have an ongoing relationship with the russians . Again, the proper thing to do would be for jim comey someone of the Intelligence Community to greet the incoming president of the very close to the incoming president. Houston, we have a problem. Mr. President elect, youve got a problem. And heres the problem that we have they department do that either. There was hiding the ball. But now we know general flynn was innocent. There was no there, there. We know that also from the january fifth meeting that now infamous meeting in the white house with president obama asking comey and the acting attorney general sally gaetz to stay if behind and that conversation as recorded later was very revealing. Jim comey, we have nothing disparaging on general flynn. Let those words sink in nothing disparaging on general flynn but there have been a number of phone calls between him and hes doing his job apparently some of the phone calls were just theres they department make the connection. They were out of the five phone calls as i read the pensions there were potential two substance conversations. That was it. And it all had to do with Foreign Policy above all, the Foreign Policy of the middle east. And isis lets listen to senator johnson here watch. There was nothing improper about those conversations at all but what we did learn from Michael Flynn trial and Sidney Powell is fact that fbi on january 4th the, were close the case on mike flynn theyre investigating his contacts with turkey and other matters. It comes in conclusion theres nothing to continue to investigation or bring charge as so theyre going to close that up but then apparently word came down from high on seventh floor james comey office said lets keep this open. Okay. On what basis was then the fbi under james comey interviewing going after flynn, and early if 2017, what were these if fbi official trying to achieve by continuing if an investigation that ran out of crime to investigate. Were they investigating or trying to create crimes here because james comey sent a couple of guys over to entrap flynned a white house. I mean, fbi already had a transcript they already knew what he said to Russian Ambassador and nothing young in the phone calls what were they trying to do at this point in time . Well it is possible that they were, in fact, try to encourage them to disemmable to lie and appears he did not do that. But what we do know is that they blaifed behaved improperly on the 7th floor with Andrew Mccabe jim comey, and then peter strzok being part of the interviewing process. Going about this interview on january 24th now National Security advisor think how busy he is. Lulling him into thinking it is the conversation, so it would be a counterintelligence right investigation. We wongd where the russians are up to and maybe you can help us. General, but now we know on fullness of time that the investigation, this wasnt january 24th, the investigation the the general flynn was expanded into a criminal investigation as to whether he had violated the logan act. Had he engaged engaged in impror diplomatic relationship with the russian and, of course, he had not. Back during those december calls, so its a comedy of tragic error it is that is too much of a tragedy to partake anything of a very cruel comedy its a cruel abuse of power. Ken, how many other people could be charged with the logan act could people be charged with a logan act right now for interfering for interfering with the president s policy, for example on iran . Yeah. Line them up. Getted ready. The indictments will flow. The good news is that this sweet land of liberty guess what, that Justice Department has never in its history prosecuted anyone under logan angt. And logan act has all kinds of thing shall not reach out to Foreign Government excuse me is this a free country or is this communist party of china . Is there iran . So i think the law is very questionable. Even though it is on the book, we do know it is a dead letter because if law is is on book and speed limit is never enforced and essence theres no speed limit logan act has never been enforced by Justice Department ever not once. You have to go back to the early part of the 19th century for two prosecutions brought by attorneys never in the history of the Justice Department. All right ken star we love having you on. There great to see you. Thank you, elizabeth. Were awaiting the president. Hes about to speak at any moment. The declassified transcript of the Michael Flynn transcript critics say they strongly support new investigations by both the Justice Department and by multiple committees in congress to house and senate on what really happened when the boss trump russia probe. Lets talk about it with former trump 2016 Deputy Campaign manager david great to have you back on, david. It starts this week with testimony from former Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein before Senate Judiciary what do you want to hear from Rod Rosenstein this week . [laughter] theres so much. To learn from him and i think it is important that American People get to finally hear what was underneath all of the bad actors that were attacking then candidate trump and elect President Trump and he knows it is why fisa warrant were signed and hes going to have to answer for why he signed the third one. Were going to be able to find out from him with exculpatory evidence and find out if he read if he read the kislyak phone call and we know this and we know there was nothing to if. This is to classify that document and three and a half years to declassify it is in and of itself criminal act. This is the coverup at highest end thats why President Trump two years ago said he told fuss that two years ago that behind all of this was behind this this started and end at the oval office with barack obama and joe biden ordering political, political investigations. Using the power of the Justice Department, using the power of our Intelligence Services to frame up Michael Flynn. It is now just it is as judge star was just saying a tragedy of what they did to mike flynn. You know, i know that general incredibly well, hes a proud man who served his country incredibly well for to do what they did to him is criminal and i want all of them. Every one of them held accountable. You know, david, adam schiff has intelligence chair democrat is saying Michael Flynn could have been blackmailed by russians. But legal, legal Jonathon Turley saying thats ludicrous because that would imply russians have information to blackmail flynn with when the transcripts of its phone call were available already. That people had it here in the u. S. Government those transcripts and russians couldnt blackmail him. Take that on . No, and first of all, first of all, congressman schiff is a known liar. Why would anyone take and seriously this man has lied continuously since the beginning of this investigation and he knows no bounds and no decent city when fact hit him in the face, he still rejects them. It is outrageous, it is embarrassing that hes a member of congress and it certainly is embarrassing chair of the intelligence committee. Senate judiciary could decide this week to authorize subpoenas of former administration officials, who do you think will be subpoenaed . Well, look, im hoping that clapper and brannon and comey and mccabe and strzok and paige, baker, all of these names that we know so well that those are the people that need to come in and come in right away. Okay. Were going leave it right there the president is now approaching the podium hes about to speak for the nation. Lets listen. Thank you very much. First and highest duty as president is to defend our great country and the American People. I swore and oath to uphold the laws of our nation and that is exactly what will i will do. All american were with rightly sickened and revolted by the brutal death of george floyd. My administration is fully committed that for george and his family justice will be served. He will not have died in vain. But we cannot allow the righteous cries and Peaceful Protesters to be drowned out by an angry mob the biggest victims of the rioting are peace loving citizens in our poorest communities, and as their president i will fight to keep them safe. I will fight to protect you. I am your president of law and order. And an ally of all Peaceful Protesters, but in recent days, our nation has been gripped by professional anarchist, violent mobs arsonist, looters, criminals, rioters, antifa and others. A number of state and local governments have failed to take necessary action to safeguard their residents. And innocent people have been savagely beaten like the young man in dallas, texas, who was left dying on the street. Or the woman in upstate new york, viciously attacked by dangerous thugs. Small Business Owners have seen their dreams utterly destroyed. New yorks finest have been hit in the face with bricks. Brave nurses, who have battled a virus are afraid to leave their homes. A Police Precinct has been overrun, here in the nations capitol the Lincoln Memorial and the world war ii memorial have been vandalized. One of our most Historic Churches was set ablaze a federal officer in california an africanamerican enforcement l hero was shot and killed. These are not acts of peaceful protest. These are acts of domestic terror. The destruction of innocent life and spilling of innocent blood is an offense to humanity and a crime against god. America needs creation not destruction. Cooperation, not contempt, security not anarchy. Healing not hatred. Justice not chaos. This is our mission. And we will success 100 . We will succeed. Our country always wins. That is why i am taking immediate president ial action to stop the violence and restore security and safety in america. I am mobilizing all available federal resources civilian and military to stop the rioting and looting to end the destruction and arson and to protect the rights of lawabiding americans including your Second Amendment rights. Therefore, the following measures are going into effect immediately. First, we are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now. Today i have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming Law Enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled if a city or state refuses to take actions that are necessary to defend the lives and property of their residents, then i will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them. I am also taking swift and Decisive Action to protect our great capitol, washington, d. C. What happened to the city last night was a total disgrace. As we speak, i am dispatching thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel, and Law Enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults, and the want and destruction of property. We are putting everybody on warning our 7 00 curfew will be strictly enforced. Those who threaten innocent life and property will be arrested, detained and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I want the organizers of this terror to be on notice that you will face severe criminal penalties and lengthy sentences in jail. This includes antifa and others who are leading instigators of this violence. One law and order and that is what it is. One law. We have one beautiful law. And once that is restored and fully restored, we will help you, we will help your business. And we will help your family. America is founded upon rule of law. It is the foundation of our prosperity, our freedom, and our very way of life. But where there is no law, there is no opportunity. Where there is no justice, there is no liberty. Where theres no safety, theres no future. We must never give in to anger or hatred. If malice or violence reigns, then none of us is free. I take these actions today with firm resolve, and with a true and passionate love for our country. By far our greatest days lie ahead. Thank you very much, and now im going to pay my respects to a very, very special place. Thank you very much. With the president said, blake the president is saying he will deploy the u. S. Military to the streets of our nation. Hes talking about a 7 00 curfew in washington blake can you wrap this for us . Hi there liz thank you for coming to me. So we just heard the president of the United States in the rose garden by the way the white house have been saying earlier a speech like this would not happen. Thats what the press secretary kevin said earlier today but clearly things have changed and at least the thinking within the white house have changed that they felt they needed to put the president on the president himself felt he needed to go out in the rose garden to give this six to 7 minute speech in which he said i am your president of law and order. What we saw from the president two thing, first off, this warning that he gave to governors privately on a phone call earlier today in the situation room. The president expressed that before the entire nation saying that these governors need to call up the National Guard within their state. The white house earlier today would not say exactly how many National Guard in total National Guard members in total they felt needed to be activated and put out on to the streets. Just a suggest, though, that it would be about a thousand and press secretary say earlier today 50,000 National Guard members and 17,000 have been activated at this point so the president today who had threatened those who had issued i guess i should say a stern warning to those governors came out flatly here and said if you dont put the National Guard out there to dominate your streets if you refuse i will deploy the u. S. Military. The the power in which the president is able to do that is through the act, something that was signed into law in 1807. 200 year ago, that allows for the president if there is okay what we have essentially been seeing in certain spots across the country to deploy u. S. Military personnel on to the streets across the country and the president is threatening to do just that. If governors do not act as he is fit so thats number one. But number two as well within washington, d. C. , this territory of which the president resides and essentially oversees he threatens to dispatch military that it is going to be happening tonight. So clearly action here from the president liz but i would say there might be some who look at this speefn say well what about the message for Race Relations and what many see as Racial Injustice and necessary reforms needed in this country. That tonight we didnt necessarily hear the president. Liz. Blake burman thank you for wrapping i appreciate it and welcome back to the show murdoch you were listening to what the president said whats your reaction . Did that work out . Wish heard couple of days ago but glad he said them and oval office might have been more dramatic of a setting but thats okay. He basically issued a challenge to our governess you lead or i will and if they dont deploy National Guard do what they need to protect lives and liberty and property of their citizens of the United States will sending u. S. Military to do so. I mean this whole thing started off with the president said as our country sick ngdz and revolted by the completely needless and barbaric killing of poor george floyd and now to the point where you have the antifa and other terrorist attacking the Lincoln Memorial. The memorial to the man who slaves for gods sake the world war ii memorial attacked i stood on myballny in east village in new york city last night, watching an nypd ban set upon a bunch who went in and knocked down windows, and put graffiti on it threw traffic cones at it. Saw through my own eyes below my balcony on my black and wine store across from me is boarding up its windows with plywood so they arent attacked and looted like so many other places have been so i think that we needed to decisive and clear and tough action and now we have it with any luck this will be last night of rioting and seen in this country. Were hear aing 17,000 National Guard about to be deployed 82nd airborne standing up there ready if needed. Officials say yes stop the rioting. George floyds brother saying he does not agree with the looting and rioting. The collected anguish and pain over what happened is a george floyd for the george floyd family to deal with for minnesota to deal with not for looters and riots hell bengt on destruction to exploit the exploit the president saying im going to end the riots and lawlessness now. He will deploy National Guard to, quote, dominate the streets. He is saying to antifa, you will face severe criminal penalties and jail time. Hes moving to declare antifa a terrorist organization, is legal experts are skimming pushback on that saying that law doesnt allow him to do that. Your take on that . Well look i think that this whole thing completely fell apart when that Police Precinct third prep sing was surrenderedo mob in minneapolis i think on thursday or friday night that sent a green light to all sorts of destructive people around country. Hey it is a free for all knock yourselves out rip the place to pieces thats what theyve been doing. They should add many more arrests and not where they go in for ten minutes released and then they have speed credit because they got arrested but very cool. But they need to be left in there for a long time and prosecuted i really hope that we do that. And lock these people up especially anybody who is crossing state lines to coordinate this kind of mayhem thats a federal violation, and a department of justice should absolutely hammer them with federal law for this kind of thing. I see my beautiful city of new york torn to pieces and boy weve been trying to recover from covid19 and a everything else. Next monday were supposed to start opening back up i dont think thats going to happen. You know weve dealt with all of these crises in this country one after the next. Now el dooing request this and this mayhem absolutely has to stop. Yes we need to focus on getting all Police Officers respectful as possible and those who are not need to be isolated. If the criminal they need to be treated like criminals. But first and foremost tonight we have to prevent the kind of mayhem and carnage and arson and destruction that have just been running ram pangt for last four nights. Absolutely, absolutely awful something that first responsibility to take care of. You know the mayor of atlanta said Martin Luther king would not agree with this and president is is saying that peaceful nonviolent protesters their message is getting drowned out. By the rioters and looters attacking if innocent people including the poor communities, the president saying hell stand up to protect them. Your reaction to that. Thats wect sad test thing is we started with across political spectrum left middle and right appalled disgusting with what they saw with Police Officer and in minneapolis putting his knee on mr. Floyds neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds until he killed him all agreed on that could have added a positive National Discussion about how we make sure that sort of thing never happens and award policemen and policewomen to do right thing and quickly this deinvolved in Something Else and discussing that sort of very positive effort were focused on ending looting and destruction, the attack on churches that st. Patricks cathedral in new york city. Graffiti socalled church of president across the white house. Those that was set ablaze last night. None of this has anything to do request peaceful protest or civil dis obedience or focus on justice for george floyd family or honoring his legacy none of the above is total mayhem and nihilism has to stop and has to stop tonight. You know to roy the the president just moments ago saying that state and local leaders have failed. Have failed their own people. Putting innocent lives at risk. Minnesota governor tim joining saturday News Conference saying absolute chaos this is note grieving. This is not making a statement about injustice. That we fully knowledge needs to be fixed. This is about people exploiting what happened for their own end. Your final word tonight. Yeah. Exploiting things for all of the wrong ends and as far as failed leadership look mayor de blasio told police to have a light touch im all for a light touch as long as on both sides and by the police and suckerpunch by antifa and terrorist who basically have been busy tearing my city to pieces and it has to stop is tonight. Okay.
