Were in a nation of 350 million americans. 50 million have Police Interactions with them every year. Off the that 50 Million Police civilian interactions, 11 Million People are arrested. Out of that, 60,000 officers are assaulted, 50 killedded. Despite all of that, only a thousand people are killed by the police every year, and thats been the same average for the last four or five years. Almost all of them have been resisting with a weapon or resisting violently. When youre looking at unarmed white cops killing unarmed black, youre talking less than 4 of the total. Michael brown was unarmed, but his dna was found on the cops gun. Its very, very, very rare for the police to kill anybody, let alone an unarmed black person who is not reasonably perceived as a threat. Out of all the homicides in this country, unfortunately, half of the victims are blacks, and almost all of them are killed by other black people. It is a fact that a young white man, number one cause of death for a young white man, preventable, is accidents like car accidents. The number one cause of death whether preventable or not for a young black man is homicide. 810 times more likely to be a homicide victim than a young white man, thats why the cops are there. Rapper tupac shakur once said we need the police more than anybody else because of the criminal element that is there. So knock it off. The facts do not support the whole premise behind the narrative, and its getting people killed. Young black men being undock try nateed with the idea that theyre going to be hurt when theyre stopped by a police officer, so they are unnecessarily onguard and, therefore, not complying. So you are ruining the relationship by this phony narrative, its getting people killed, and i keep waiting for kareem abduljabbar, charles barkley, somebody to stand up with some kind of stature and say, wait a second, lets take a look at the facts before we react. I havent seen that yet.
