(WWSB) - The state reached a grim milestone this weekend with 2 million positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March. That news follows a weekend of curfews as spring breakers arrived across the state. The current statewide positivity rate is at 6.69% as of Monday. Manatee and Sarasota are reporting positivity rates of 9.11% and 7.44% respectively. The state is also reporting 2,979 new cases bringing the statewide total to 2,011,211. 37 new deaths have been reported bringing the total death toll to 32,779 An increase in the death total does not indicate that all deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.
