High Wind Warnings are in effect for much of Southeast Wyoming through 8:00 PM Friday evening, with Winter Weather Warnings and Advisories in effect for Northwest Wyoming and the Snowy Range in Southeast Wyoming until at least 6:00 am Saturday morning.
The end of February has arrived, and it will be ending on a windy note for many in Wyoming, at least for the final Friday of the month and for some the pattern will continue into Saturday. There are also some snow chances to end the month as well, however for most locations those impacts will be minimal. The wind for this afternoon will be very similar to what was experienced around the state Monday and Tuesday, with sustained speeds over 30 mph and gusts over 50 mph for many. High Wind Warnings are in effect for Laramie, Platte, and Albany Counties as well as Elk Mountain until 8:00 pm tonight. The snow chances will mainly be in Northwest Wyoming for today, with some localized snow in the snowy range. There are Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories in effect for that region until 6:00 am tomorrow morning. Some of these showers will move east along the I-80 corridor into Southeastern Wyoming this evening and tonight, with limited impacts expected.
