VERMILLION, South Dakota – A fire severely damaged a vacant Vermillion home early Friday.
Matthew Callahan, Vermillion Fire Chief, reported that the fire was reported just before 1am in a mobile home at 1033 Allison St.C.
The crew initially encountered heavy smoke and then a fire, which was extinguished after about an hour. Callahan said in a release that a third of the mobile home was badly damaged by fire, while the rest was affected by smoke and water damage.
