First look: Standard hotel launch rooftop bar with views across the city David Ellis The Standard hotel close by King’s Cross station has launched a new rooftop bar, inspired by its New York roots. Dubbed simply “The Standard Rooftop”, the open-air spot, which is decorated in bright pinks and yellows, sits above the hotel’s 10th floor restaurant, Decimo, the Mexican-inspired dining room run by Peter Sanchez-Iglesias. It has views of much of the city, including an unobstructed sight of the St Pancras clock tower. Opening on May 1 , initially the astroturfed bar will offer table service only, in line with the first stages of lockdown lifting. Later, in the summer, reservations will not be required, with the hotel promising a “relaxed, festival atmosphere”. Reservations are being taken now.
