A few more competitors like this could eat into Tesla's EV share. While diehard muscle car fanatics will never acknowledge that the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E as a "real" Mustang, the first all-electric SUV has been a boon for overall Mustang sales. 2021 started as a slow year for the Mach-E with only 238 units sold in January. Once deliveries started getting underway though, Ford moved 3,739 of them the following month. Sales continue to climb, with the Mach-E sitting on dealer lots for just four days on average, according to Ford. The sales numbers for April are in, and the Mach-E managed to move 1,951 units. This year to date, Ford has sold 8,565 copies of the electric SUV. Ford says demand for the Mach-E has helped push Mustang sales up by 50.9% compared to last year, with sales of the gas-powered pony car totaling 8,000 units.
