The Central government has granted Y+ security cover to former Indian Ambassador to the US and BJP leader Taranjeet Singh Sandhu across India. The Ministry of Home Affairs extended the security based on a threat analysis report. Sandhu, a retired IFS officer, recently joined the BJP, following in the footsteps of other former diplomats turned politicians under the Modi government.
