In a 47-page complaint, Mehta’s counsels from law firm McLaughlin & Stern alleged that the termination was in retaliation to her “valid complaints” regarding the company’s corporate structure in India, which according to the lawsuit, was meant to avoid local tax liability in the country.

A former India employee of Netflix has sued the global streaming platform in a US court for “wrongful termination” as well as alleged gender and racial discrimination.
Nandini Mehta, former director of business and legal affairs at Netflix India whose employment was terminated in April 2020, filed the lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week.
