Four juveniles in custody, stolen vehicle recovered after high speed chase near Elizabethtown Share Updated: 10:30 AM EST Mar 12, 2021 WLKY Digital Team SOURCE: WLKY Share Updated: 10:30 AM EST Mar 12, 2021 WLKY Digital Team Four juveniles are in custody after leading Kentucky State Police troopers on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle in the Elizabethtown area, officials said.The incident was reported after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when a trooper noticed a 2012 Dodge Avenger traveling at a speed of 110 mph south on Interstate 65 near the commercial vehicle scales, according to a statement from KSP.Officials said troopers tried to pull over the people in the car, but they instead continued going south on the interstate. The car then reached 118 mph as it exited at the Upton exit, then re-entered I-65 going back northbound.Elizabethtown police were able to use tire deflating devices on the car once it reached the 91 mile-marker. That helped slow the drivers down until the car stopped at the 93 mile-marker, officials said.The four juveniles — who were not identified — were then taken into custody with the help of troopers and Elizabethtown police. Officials said the four were then taken to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center in Bowling Green.According to KSP, the Dodge Avenger was reported stolen out of the Frankfort area.Additional details were not released about the investigation.
