There is a reason why very powerful forces want to keep joe biden in place and not have him face the consequences of the corruption. I think i dont know, Merrick Garland, to me, comes across as almost looking a little lit like a yes man. Or allowing his subordinates to kind of go the direction they want to go. It really just comes down to with where you fall and what you think david weiss intentions are. I guess from garlands perspective, what hes putting out there is david weiss has done it by the book, i have no reason to doubt him, im going to give him what he asked for originally which is Special Counsel designation so there are no more questions about whether or not he is doing what he wants to do as opposed to what hes allowed to do. That really doesnt answer the questions raised by the whistleblowers, because the real questions after whistleblower testimony isnt is david weiss allowed to do what he wants to do, its why is david weiss saying this is as much as he wanted to do . Why is david weiss saying he didnt need to interview this person or go looking for evidence here or charge on these can counts. And so this doesnt answer that question. And so if it is an attempt to kind of squash the criticism, it falls much short. Meanwhile, to another legal case and investigation going on, this one into President Trump. A judge issue a protective order in the case looking into january 6th. The protective order is design to protect evidence related to the case. It is designed to, again, protect, quoteunquote, sensitive materials. Heres what the district judge, tanya chutkan, had to say. Mr. Trump, like every american, has a First Amendment to free speech, but that right is not absolute n. A Criminal Case such as this one, the defendants free speech is subject to the rules, so thinking trump may say when it comes anything trump may say when it comes to this case, not anything and everything, but anything and everything will come under her purview for her to look at and say whether or not it is a violation of this this protective order. Rachel heres what President Trump add had to say about this First Amendment case. The case is a ridiculous case. Its a First Amendment case. But we dont want trump to speak. So they want me they take away your rights on First Amendment, now they sue so now i have one of these lunatic reporters back there saying, sir, wed like to talk to you about your case. Or, im sorry, im not allowed to talk about it. Somehow thats not good for votes, do you agree, when we say i cant i will talk about it. Theyre not taking away my First Amendment right. This is an a injustice, and he sees what this judge is doing as Election Interference. And i think hes right. And, by the way, we should look at this judge a little closely. If you look at some of the statements that she made in sentencing which, by the way, shes sentenced very harshly and went above and beyond what if many people thought was just and fair in the cases of many of the january 6th defendants. She actually in many of these cases said, you know, these people are just too loyal to donald trump, and i cant believe hes still free. And that is the woman who is now in charge of this case. So its an interesting situation. Joey yeah. If i understand this right, what she basically said is i think prosecutors are asking for, basically, a hush order. Like, trump cant talk about in this at all in any way will so as to not intimidate witnesses. Joey exactly. Trumps defense come to the judge and says, listen,s this is unique from any other case like it because this guys running for president , his popularity among people matters. If the Justice Department put out charges which are not proven, theyre charges, not convictions, if they can put out charges that leak or paint a narrative, we should be able to push back on that. Rachel of course. Joey so the judge says you can, but theres certain pieces of evidence the prosecutions can asked for you to not talk about. So you can look at it as a mixed ruling, or you can look at it as her trying to find a way to uphold what might be a legitimate legal request by the prosecution but also provide President Trump his ability to push back on some of these charges rachel because its kind of vague. Its kind of vague, so you kind of dont know when joey you dont know until you do. Will i said last night in a normal situation you would say, yes, a criminal defendant can have their First Amendment rights limited. In other words, you cant say whatever you want to say because it could impact a trial, and a criminal trial takes precedent. In a normal situation her order would be expected. And then you would say, again in a normal situation, well, that really reflects on the wisdom of the prosecutor who decides to bring this type of case in the middle of a president ial election. Joey yeah. Will youd say why would they do the that because it so clearly could interfere in a president ial election. But this isnt normal because its don frump, is so you dont donald trump, so you dont give them the benefit of the doubt that its a lack of wisdom. Its done with purpose. It is the designed to limit his speech, so it is designed to by the prosecution side, by jack smiths side to limit a president ial or to affect a president ial election. Joey yeah.
