Do you think he has done enough to build a coalition outside of that. What does he need to do . You need select Kamala Harris talk. You were in the running to replace mitch mcconnell. What will your priorities be should you achieve that and how may that differ if you are dealing with the harris walls harris walz. I expect we will be helping the administration past their agenda and i dont see a lot of daylight between what republicans in the senate want to do or know that we need to do things like reauthorize the Tax Cuts and jobs act. We need to reestablish ourselves , our nation, as the leader in the world when it comes to national security matters under President Biden. Our friends dont trust us and our enemies do not fear us. It was the opposite under President Trump. We will be working very closely with the administration to accomplish their priorities. I dont see a lot of daylight between what my colleagues in the senate want to do next year. We will also have to look at the debt. We are now spending more money on interest on the national debt then we are on defense. Right now, the world has gotten more dangerous. The most dangerous since World War ii. We have a lot of heavy lifting to do. Helping the bigger our majority is. Lets talk about the Tax Cuts democrats from the Vice President On Say that they are President Trump a rich Guy Giving cuts to rich people. You talk about the debt that those kind of Tax Cuts leave a Revenue Lag for the federal government and contribute to things like that. The american people are not under tax. The federal government spends too much. Do you think both parties do that . There is some complicity there. A lot of bipartisan efforts to keep our economy afloat and help deal with this pandemic. But there is been a lot of partisan spending on the inflation fire. It 2. 7 trillion in partisan Spending Bills post covid. But, i think we are out in inflection point. Part of the problem is we spend money in ways that are not just appropriations. We spent 1. 8 trillion in the tax code. There is about 200 Billion alone that is been through the child tax credit. I am for those, but i do think they need to be offset. They need to be paid for. 6 Trillion in federal spending. Determine what our priorities are as a nation. I think that that is our job. We will also get to the end of government funding. The shortterm financial bandaid. It looks like the house will send it over with the Save Act attached. If you go registered to vote federal elections you have to show proof you are a u. S. Citizen. Democrats have said thats dead on arrival, it will not happen. Is it going to hurt republicans in the final stretch of an election . In that same world to Save Act would be noncontroversial. It is a national voter id. I would think both parties and everybody would be interested in protecting the integrity of the ballot and making sure people only legally qualified to do so vote. It has become a bipartisan issue which is amazing to me. I do not think that there will be a shutdown. The house will have to move first. They have to get to 218. Then it comes to the senate. I cannot imagine that Senator Schumer is excited about having his incumbents running tough senate races running against a bill that just says you have to be an american citizen to vote. On this issue of inflation where we go from here, there was a study out this summer from a bunch of folks including some mit professors who say mathematically the overwhelming driver of inflation in 2022 was federal spending, not the supply chain. I am no scholar so i will refer to them. As i talked about was senator gordon, people on both sides of the aisle voted for the Taft Things where the Vice President was a tiebreaking vote. The Inflation Reduction Act which they said that they should not have named it yet that because that is not what it was. Cutting Prescription Drug costs for senior citizens. I am proud of the fact that we are doing our part to clean up the environment. I am proud that legislation finally took on the Drug Industry and said we will not put seniors in the position where they go bankrupt because of the Prescription Drug costs. Donald trump was in office for four years. Prescription drug prices skyrocketed under Donald Trump. For the first time doing something to transfer power from the Drug Industry to regular people. That is a difference between these two candidates. Putting power in the hands of big corporations. Promising the big Oil Industry they will do whatever they want as long as they donate A Billion Dollars to his campaign. He will continue to take power away from the big oil companies. The big Drug Companies and put that power back. What are his arguing points, key does want to enable the industry, Oil And Gas industry to do more. Places that dont have our best interest at heart. Ask yourself this. Where we producing more domestic Oil And Gas under Donald Trump or under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. We are producing more Oil And Gas today under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Dan Under Donald Trump. What we are also doing is making historic new investments in renewable energy. Much more Wind Power and Solar Power onto the grid. What they have shown is that you can do both. You can continue to develop and explore for oil here in the united states. Under Donald Trump we were not doing either. We were drilling for less oil. We were not doing anything about the climate crisis. Lets talk to something else about what the Vice President put out this week. Raising the corporate types rate. Bipartisan congressional entities that that would mean even the lowest. She is giving you a sprinkling of proposals that have been frankly widely panned including this individual homeowners is 25 K that would up prices and hurting people. To the extent that he can connect the reality on the ground of what is happening right now and what people are feeling, people that are not Goldman Sachs by The Way, making the point about the division, he went in the reality on the ground. This Week Trump went before the economic club to speak. It should have been given the perception that he wants to save the economy. It should have been knocked out for him in front of all of those rich men. And said he delivered Word Salad on a question about childcare. The Job Numbers are good, the Stock Market is good. And right now, the Federal Reserve is in a position where they will lower Interest Rates which will raise, i think, opportunities for Kamala Harris to say we have a future that is better coming under my administration. You mentioned mobs out buying groceries. You are a mother of four. That is certainly the circle you often run into. If it is hurting us, i know its hurting other people much much more. Although the rate of inflation is falling, you are not getting back to the one point that we had in January 2017 when trump was in office. This hurt people. Talk about the jobs market, we are adding jobs. It is mediocre at best. Revising down every single month to a cumulative number that is taken a pretty big hit on those numbers. Nothing more frustrating to the democrats and the fact that they feel that Biden And Harris do not get the credit that they really deserve. We have seen a little bit of brightening abuse but the fact is trump continues to be preferred when it comes to handling the economy.
