The Independent MASSILLON Standing in front of a group of curious youngsters, Valerie Stutler told the kids she loves to jump rope. "You can't believe an 'old lady' like me does that?" she asked the kids. Stutler, director of development for the American Heart Association, was at Franklin Elementary School Monday to deliver a donation of jump ropes to each student at the school. "It's really good for your health," she told third grade students in Todd Lepley's gym class as they got their jump ropes. "Even if it's just for five minutes." The American Heart Association teamed up with Midwestern Industries co-owner Chip Painter and his wife, Lisa Turkalj-Painter, to encourage youngsters to get moving and keep their hearts healthy.
