The city of Rincon is planning a weeklong spring fair with rides and food booths and public school students are planning proms and graduations. The events are drawing positive comments on social media from people who are weary of restrictions caused by the coronavirus. The director of the Coastal Health District questions the prudence of such events when four Effingham County residents died with the virus last week and community spread remains high. Attendees at the fair, April 2-11 at Freedom Park, will be asked to wear masks and there will be hand sanitizing stations at each ride and throughout the park.
