Georgia Supreme Court reopens with arguments being heard in person 12 May 2021, 13:11 GMT+10 ATLANTA, Georgia: The Georgia Supreme Court is to resume in-person court hearings for the first time in more than one year. On June 9, the nine justices will return to the Georgia Supreme Court chambers in Atlanta, Chief Justice Harold Melton announced this week. In March 2020, in response to the spreading Covid pandemic, Melton declared a statewide judicial emergency and moved all deliberations online. "Although the Statewide Judicial Emergency remains in place, this is yet another step in our court system's return to robust court operations," Melton said in a news release.
