Vaccination Clinic PHOTO: GoLocal Rhode Island officials are blaming the weather in Texas for the need to cancel community clinics despite the state having approximately 40,000 doses that have been unadministered. Rhode Island contniues to be one of the last ranked states for use of its vaccine, and is now ranked third for both cases and deaths per capita. “There is not enough Moderna vaccine in the state’s control for a clinic — without this 12,000 dose shipment,” said Wendelken. State officials canceled on Monday afternoon announcing, "As a result of severe weather that has affected distribution nationwide, certain COVID-19 vaccination appointments scheduled for 2/23 are getting rescheduled. A shipment of approximately 12,400 doses of Moderna vaccine to Rhode Island did not arrive today. The community clinics scheduled for tomorrow at the Cranston Senior Center, the Swift Community Center (in East Greenwich), and the West Warwick Civic Center are affected by this delay and are being rescheduled. People who had appointments will be contacted directly by clinic organizers.”
