Still, in the new year, the state will make more progress in vaccinating some of its residents. “We’re closing out 2020 and all of these people died this year and I know that tomorrow being the first day of 2021 we’re still going to be in this pandemic,” said Gov. John Bel Edwards during a New Year’s Eve press conference in the state capitol building.
