KNBN NewsCenter1 July 2, 2021 RAPID CITY, S.D. — A groundbreaking over a decade in the making is going to go a long way towards improving veteran health care in the area. After about 17 years of hard work by Dream Design International, the VA Black Hills Health Care System, our congressional delegation, and many others, ground was finally broken Friday morning on the future site of the VA Community-based Outpatient Clinic in Rapid City. The approximately 49,000 square foot facility will be located off Mount Rushmore Road and Catron Boulevard near many of the VA’s health care and community partners. With that much space, the VA will be expanding its services to the area’s approximately 7,000 veterans. The new clinic will also include a women’s health center.
