Hackney to perform at Mitchell Opera House July 30 Times-Mail MITCHELL — JoAnna Kai Hackney will perform live at the Mitchell Opera House on July 30 at 7 p.m. Hackney is the former school counselor at Bedford Middle School and currently works as an academic adviser at Indiana University. She is a former member of the highly acclaimed oldies band Forever Gold. Musically, Hackney entertains audiences across the Midwest with her tongue-twisted country singing, smooth melodies, and cheerful personality. She also performs the national anthem at several regional events, including Indianapolis Indians and Pacers games. Hackney has organized four Croonin' for Crohn's concerts, raising over $15,000 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. In her spare time, Hackney is a marathoner who enjoys distance running (especially in the woods), quilting, geocaching, learning new things, and spending time with friends and family, and dog MaeBe.
