History of Lubbock Police Department on display at Citizens Tower Five display cabinets containing artifacts and photographs documenting the Lubbock Police Department's century of history were installed for display Tuesday in the lobby of Citizens Tower. An unveiling ceremony on Tuesday afternoon came ahead of the city council meeting where council members honored the police department's 100th anniversary. The artifacts included Lubbock Police Department badges and patches throughout the years and photos of Lubbock police officers working crime scenes or in the community. Also on display is the official document commissioning C.S Middleton as the City of Lubbock's first police chief on May 6, 1921.
