How do you measure a natural disaster? The Ex Texting Index. Nicki Koetting FacebookTwitterEmail "Who's that sliding into my DMs? Dammit."Getty Images I’m sure you’ve heard of the Waffle House Index: FEMA’s informal way of measuring how bad a natural disaster is based on if Waffle Houses are open and how much of their menu is available. It’s a solid index, don’t get me wrong, but not super relevant to us Texans. So my colleague at MySA, Jess Elizarraras, recently suggested that Texans specifically need a Whataburger Index, which “might look something like Orange: All systems are good and the line is short, minimal damage if any. White: Limited hours and long lines, with a limited crew means supplies could be low. Spicy Ketchup Black: Whataburger's closed and things are going from bad to worse.”
