That evening, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had tested positive for COVID-19, and the NBA suspended play, the first major domino to fall in what would quickly become a global shutdown of sporting events. As NFL scouts, who were getting ready to see Justin Herbert and other Oregon prospects work out the next day, enjoyed their meal, they did so while wondering if this would be the last such gathering for the foreseeable future.
