you don't really talk about them much but as they get older your children, would it unnerve you if they wanted to go into acting? >> oh, yeah. one's slightly unnerved watching your children make their way anyway and it's a precarious business but i think everything is precarious now, frankly. doesn't amuse me but struck by memories of my father saying if you did good, invest and got the training and you could have that as a backup and the ideas of security, my father was a university lecturer and whole generation are made redundant when he was about 55 and notions of security, i have actually -- i've had a career which is probably no less secure than his turned out to be. >> what would he make of your success? >> he's still around but he's retired and he loves it. he didn't know any actors or the world of cinema and theater very much so he saw quite rightly so
