immediately for iran. the president is saying he wanted to leave it up to the negotiators to do their work and steer clear of pushing to keep sanctions in place until iran made steps in the right direction following any deal. in the meantime some republicans are taking a stronger stance suggesting that if iran doesn't cave we should skip the sanctions and keep military options on. peter is live with more details. what has the reaction been to the president's comments yesterday? >> a lot of surprise here in d.c. that president obama is not ruling out just letting iran get its way and supporting the lifting of all u.n. sanctions as soon as a deal gets done if a deal gets done. i think that goal of having in reserve the possible of putting back sanctions in the event of a violation, that goal can be met.
