year ago. june of 2009, the company announces its plans, what was the reaction here? what did gm say did they say you can transfer to toledo what were the options? >> at the time there were no options. it was an announcement made to me and the chairman. it took all we could take to hold back how we felt and walk out of the room, but we stayed. we announced it to the people. management announced it in a brash red letter in and out, very kind of cold way to shutdown a plan and to nervous. it was all within an hour or two. i was pretty cold. i don't know what to say. how i felt? unbelievable. >> reporter: bob, how long have you worked at gm? >> 34 years i'm an electrician, skilled trades, right now it looks like i'm going to be laid off the end of the year.
