By Sue Danielson Apr 5, 2021 (Polk County, IA) -- The Metro Waste Authority's regular yard waste collection season is underway. The program accepts small branches, sticks, twigs, and other garden vegetation. Residents can use Compost It! stickers or bags or a yard debris bin to place items on the curb for pick-up. For collection, residents of participating communities should place yard waste at the curb with stickers, or in bags or carts, by 6 AM on their regular collection day. Cities participating in the Compost It! program include: Altoona, Bondurant, Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines*, Grimes, Johnston, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.
