BERKELEY - Authorities are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Monday afternoon, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Berkeley Police Chief Karin DiMichele said. Township police responded to a report of shots fired at a Third Avenue home about 3 p.m. yesterday, where they found the 29-year-old victim with a bullet fragment in his face, officials said. He was treated for his injuries at Community Medical Center in Toms River and has since been released, according to authorities. The incident is being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit and detectives from the Berkeley Township Police Department.
