Burt Bacharach, American songwriter and pianist who was best known for his work with lyricist Hal David, which produced many hits for singer Dionne Warwick, including ‘Walk On By’ and ‘I Say a Little Prayer.’ They also wrote the score for the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
