Cuomo has moved swiftly as the law firm conducting the investigation has contacted attorneys for 70 witnesses and requested records from four government agencies. The investigation, which began in March, is being conducted by the Assembly Judiciary Committee, which hired the Davis Polk & Wardwell law firm to run it. Davis Polk specializes in white-collar criminal cases and several of the top members of the legal team have previously worked as federal prosecutors.
