Impending storm prompts closure of NKY mass vaccination site: âThis is for realâ Thursdayâs appointments will be rescheduled through Kroger representatives. Gov. Beshear updates COVID-19 response, vaccine rollout in Kentucky By Brian Planalp | February 9, 2021 at 3:40 PM EST - Updated February 9 at 7:06 PM FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX19) - The high-volume vaccination site located at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington will be closed Thursday due to what the National Weather Service says is an impending ice storm. Thursday was the first intended day of operation for the site, which was announced last week and is operated by Kroger. Covington, like much of the Tri-State, got several inches more snow than was initially expected Monday night/Tuesday morning, snarling commutes and creating dangerous conditions for drifers.
