India: Rescue operations continue to extract workers trapped in tunnel. In India, 40 workers have been stranded since Sunday in a construction site for a Himalayan tunnel. The authorities have launched a relief mission to get food to them and free them. The 4.5 km long tunnel is intended to connect two of the holiest Hindu shrines in Uttarkashi and Yamunotri. It is part of the Char Dham highway project, led by nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi, designed to improve links between four major Hindu sites.
